Frequently Asked Questions

Before you apply, take a look at some of the most common questions that we get asked...

Is this really free to join?

Yes, the NGINE programme was built to help young entrepreneurs and innovators to get the same support, knowledge and skills pursuing a business as they would do any other academic subject. So we don't charge successful applicants a penny for being a part of the programme until you make at least £100 in a month.

Once you're making £100 per month, then we charge £5 for that month. When you earn over £1000 in a month, that fee will rise to £30/month to help fund other opportunities for young business people. Considering the tools and guidance you're getting access to would cost thousands per month, we think that's a pretty fair deal.

However, because we invest a huge amount of time and money into each and every young business that we help launch, we will hold you accountable and will expect you to be consistently working on your business every week in addition to your school work to keep your eligibility for the programme.

If it is free to join, how is it funded?

The vast majority of our funding comes from the extreme generosity of our sponsors. Our sponsors are mostly other business owners who understand the financial, emotional and social difficulties that starting up a business can create and they want to help.

If you would like to become a sponsor and change a young person's life, then please get in touch or visit our sponsors page to find out more.

I'm over 21, can I still apply?

Unfortunately due the the high costs and large number of applications, you must be under 21 at the time of applying to be eligible for the NGINE programme. If you are over 21, we may still be able to help you get started at a discounted rate by referring you to one of our partners though, so get in touch!

How many people are in the programme?

At the moment we are going through a trial period, with each business taking a lot of time and money to launch, so we will be accepting a maximum number of 5 businesses into NGINE.

We hope to expand our support to more businesses in future, but to do that we need to secure more funding and more sponsors. If you would like to support us, please visit our sponsors page.

I've already applied, when will I hear back?

We aim to respond to all business applications within 2 weeks, however we personally look over every business plan and try to offer feedback to help young people wherever possible, regardless of whether you're accepted into NGINE, so sometimes this process can take longer.
