Why sponsor with NGINE?

Becoming a sponsor with NGINE means more than just backing a project... You're directly empowering local young people to launch real businesses with real impact.

For just £30/month, you’ll help fund websites, tools, mentorship and a thriving support network for hard working 14–21 year olds in Greater Manchester. In return, your business will be proudly featured in our sponsor directory, spotlighted on our social media, and seen as a local leader who’s investing in the future, plus a whole lot more as we grow and launch the next generation of business leaders.

Let’s build something amazing together.

In-person workshops

Growing together by getting NGINEERS away from their screens and learning valuable business skills live and in-person amongst other like minded young people

Funding big dreams

Loaning vital equipment where talented individuals with big ideas and a plan to get there genuinely don't have access to essential tools needed to build their empire.

What our long term vision, looks like, brought to life by you

Launching The NGINE Bay

A collaborative workspace for young entrepreneurs, high end computers for the next generation of coders and editors, book office space, present to clients and have a home for dozens of young businesses

Helping more young people

Expansion beyond Atherton, reaching young people across Greater Manchester and even the UK, giving young people a real alternative to going through the struggle of starting a business alone

The NGINE curriculum

Going into schools and colleges and reinventing business studies. What if we could work within education environments to give business minded students the same support as any other core subject with embedded real world learning

Here's how it works for our young people...

Submit your business plan

Potential NGINEERS apply to join the programme by answering some basic questions, designed to help them think more about their business.

Business plan review

We review their applications and aim to get back to them within 2 weeks with acceptance or feedback on how they can improve their plan.

Prepare for launch

If accepted, we'll work with them to set up their online presence, initial marketing, tools and processes ready to launch or grow their business!

Mentor acceleration

NGINEERS learn by doing, but they'll have access to our experienced mentors to guide them on anything from getting more customers to managing their workload

Collaborate and succeed

We'll connect them with other NGINE businesses so that they can learn, support and collaborate with each other safely. We'll also keep you constantly updated on their progress via our sponsors newsletter!

Why us? Take a look at some of our previous projects...

NGINE is the pinnacle of over a decade of work, focused on community driven projects designed to improve and enrich the lives of young people and local communities.

We didn't start here, it's been a long, hard road of highs, lows and an ever growing determination to change lives of people who are not given the same opportunities, support or outreach offered to those in more affluent areas.

Here are just a few projects that we've started and that have improved the lives of people in Atherton and the surrounding areas...

Tell Toucan

Community mobile shopping app

Pioneering local shopping during lockdown. During COVID, we launched Tell Toucan, a community shopping app, helping people that couldn't leave their homes to shop safely in their local communities.

Tell Toucan helped keep people safe and kept local businesses afloat with thousands of pounds worth of sales processed through unprecedented times.

"Ordering through your app is so much safer and easier! And there’s no queues!! Bonus."
- Tell Toucan Customer, Atherton

SafeStreets

Community safety app

A totally free first of it's kind app developed to help local people warn others of suspicious or dangerous activities.

SafeStreets received over 4000 downloads in the first month after launch and has sent out over a million alerts to keep local people safe from potential threats.

"Thankyou for your amazing contribution in creating the app and the new anti car theft device." - SafeStreets User, Bolton

Crash the Courts

Achieving excellence through youth basketball

An affordable basketball programme based in Atherton that developed core confidence from ages 8-17.

CTC has coached hundreds of players over four years, won 3 back to back championships and achieved a 100% success rate of CTC team players receiving a top college or nationals team offers.

"Thank you so much for all you've done these last few years at CTC, my son's life has changed beyond belief and a large part of that has been from finding the basketball family at CTC" - Parent, Leigh

Have Questions?

Here are some of the most commonly asked questions from our sponsors...

What will you do with my sponsorship?

Your sponsorship will immediately and directly go towards giving young entrepreneurs opportunities that they simply cannot get anywhere else.

Through our partners, we're already getting very deep discounts, but it still costs a significant amount of money to set up a young person with a domain, website and hosting each month, then offer regular mentorship, support and access to the same tools that are simply outside of their reach without financial backing.

Your sponsorship is the difference maker between being able to offer a young person a chance to run a successful business, and them being told that they can't afford it. So we thank you and commit to you to spend every penny on continuing to launch and nurture young businesses.

What happens after I sign up as a sponsor?

The first thing that happens is that you have the realisation that you've just helped change a young person's life. Right after that, we'll send you a welcome email and personally reach out to get some more basic details like your company logo to get your company out there as a sponsor, backer or champion.

After that, we'll keep you regularly updated on the progress of NGINE and any other opportunities that arise through our newsletter.

How many businesses do you currently have in NGINE?

We are currently in the pre-pilot stage of NGINE, which means that we are gathering interest from sponsors and onboarding trial NGINEERS. During the pilot we will be capping the number of businesses at 5 to make sure that we have capacity to fully support all of them, but we are looking to grow that number as soon as possible.

How do I know how my money is being used?

We send out a monthly newsletter that will keep you up to date with the progress that NGINE and our young people's businesses are making, so you will be able to see exactly how your money is making a difference.

We also plan to host in-person events where sponsors will be able to meet and talk to our young entrepreneurs in the future!

What if I decide that I don't want to sponsor?

We totally understand. We're business owners too, so we get that there can be a whole host of reasons why you would need to cancel or pause your sponsorship. Firstly, you absolutely can cancel at any time and we appreciate any amount that you've contributed, just send us over an email saying that you would like to cancel and we'll get that processed, no questions asked!

Who we help

We value your contributions, and are fully committed to making them work as hard as possible for our NGINE projects, therefore, we have a very strict criteria for applicants

To apply to NGINE, applicants meet this criteria:

  • They must be between the ages of 14 and 21 at the time of submitting their application

  • If they are under 18, they must have an appropriate adult who can act as a representative

  • They must submit a business plan and must not use AI to create that business plan

  • They must actively work on their business each week and report on their progress
(we keep you informed each month with our monthly newsletter)

  • They must include the approved NGINE logo on marketing materials

  • They must live in Atherton, Manchester or the surrounding areas
